About Amh Senses
In Sanskrit, Amh (अम्ह) means spark. The kind that was always there — quiet, patient, waiting for the noise to settle.
Amh Senses grew from a simple conviction: that the most meaningful wellness doesn’t ask you to escape your life, but to arrive more fully into it. Not a retreat from the world. A return to the body.

The Space
At the heart of Amh is a Javanese joglo — a traditional wooden house held together by interlocking timber joints, perfected over generations for tropical life. We built around it with materials drawn from the island: ironwood, lime plaster, marble, rattan.
The space moves you through a sensory arc — from the calm of arrival, through the warmth of natural wood, into the stillness of treatment. How a space is made shapes how it makes you feel. If the materials are honest, the experience will be too.

The Traditions
Our treatments are inherited, not invented. Lulur, the royal body scrub, originated in the courts of Central Java. Boreh, the warming body mask, was village medicine used by Balinese rice farmers. Our salt comes from Kusamba, where families have worked the black sand salt pans for centuries. We use these ingredients because they work and because they belong to this place.
We don’t claim to have invented anything. We are students of what came before, doing our best to honour it with care and craft.
Our Philosophy
We believe wellness should be honest, not aspirational. Rooted in place, not in trends. Built for the body first.
Amh Senses is not a destination you visit once. It is a practice. Come after surfing. Come after a long flight. Come because it is Tuesday and your shoulders are tight. The door is open every day.
Find your spark.
